New summer hours starting July 1st – September 2nd

The last few years have seen some sharp increases in summer temperatures here on Gabriola which has made working conditions for GIRO staff and volunteers more challenging. Last summer the temperatures on the dock by mid-afternoon (in the shade) reached 42 degrees!

To help our staff manage the heat we will have new summer hours starting July 1st. The depot (which includes the store) will now be open from:

8:30am – 3pm
(drive-in gate closes at 2:30pm)

Please make a note of this time change and we hope to see you bright and early !
